Resident Rights and Responsibilities
Your information is protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act.
To find the resources you are looking for, we may refer to our partner agencies. When we talk to them, we share only the information that they need to know to assist you, and all other information is kept confidential. As a community resident interested in accessing services, you have certain rights.
All resident consents will expire 12 months from their initial date of signing and must be updated to continue accessing certain programs and services.

Right to Confidentiality and Privacy
No information will be shared or released by Rise Calgary without your written or verbal permission, except in the following cases:

When reporting to appropriate authorities when there is a risk of self harm.

When reporting to appropriate authorities when there is a risk of harm to others.

When reporting to appropriate authorities when a child has been identified as at risk of harm, abuse, or neglect.

When reporting due to subpoena by the court, testifying, or providing case records as required by law.
Right to Grievance
If at any time you have a concern regarding the services you receive, you are encouraged to talk directly with the Community Advocate you met with to discuss the solution. If this discussion is unsuccessful, then contact with a senior staff member can be arranged.
Right to Treatment
You will be treated with respect, dignity, and without discrimination regardless of your age, gender, mental or physical status, sexual orientation, race, belief system, or ethnicity. We expect the same from you in return.
Resident Responsibilities

You are responsible to give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel an appointment.

When involved in a program, receiving services, or visiting our Rise Calgary office spaces, we ask you to visit us when free from the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Additional Authorities
If you add additional authorities to your Rise Calgary file, these people will have access to information about your programs and services and can connect with Rise Calgary on your behalf for as long as your consent remains current and active.
Should there be any changes to your circumstances, you will need to connect with us to remove them as authorities.
Rise Calgary Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from www.risecalgary.ca (the “Site”).
Personal Information we Collect
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Personal Information.
How do we use your personal information?
We use the Information that we collect generally to fulfill any requests for programs or services placed through the Site.
Additionally, we use this Information to:
Communicate with you; Screen our registrations or applications for potential risk or fraud; and
When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or resources relating to our programs or services that meet your needs.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
Your Rights
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
Data Retention
When you submit an application or registration through the Site, we will maintain your Information for our records in order to provide support and services to you, unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
Minors
The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18 and Rise Calgary will not provide programs and services to minors without the express permission of their parent of guardian.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
